Best Study Schedule for Class 7 Exam Preparation

A good method to prepare for examinations in class 7 is to follow a study schedule. Study schedules are very helpful in analyzing and managing the time available and the syllabus to be covered. To prepare a decent study schedule, you can use your textbooks along with the NCERT solutions for class 7, covering honeycomb class 7 English and others. 

Before you start preparing your study schedule, there are a few things that you should keep in mind – 

  • Know your style of learning. Only you can determine how much time you will need to completely understand and learn a topic. Every student has a different learning style. Some prefer silent reading, whereas others may be good with writing and learning, or speaking out loud, to get a good grasp of the topic. Hence, keep in mind your learning style, while framing your schedule. 
  • Secondly, be sure you know how to manage, arrange, and break your syllabus into various categories and divisions, to segregate and allot specific days for studying. The syllabus of class 7th is vast and all the subjects require equal time and effort. Hence, know your syllabus and make your schedule accordingly. 
  • While making your study schedule, make sure to add breaks in between study sessions. Keep some time aside to pursue any activity that you enjoy. This can include any extracurricular activities that may refresh your mind. Even though you won’t be studying in your break time, it will help enhance the power of retention. 
  • Keep a check on your progress. While you frame your schedule, include tests, practice questions, sample papers, and previous year’s question papers in the schedule. Solving and practising tests will help you get an update about your progress as well as your weak areas. With this, you can make the required changes in your schedule, aiming for a better score.

Normally, a student of class 7 can be expected to leave for school between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. Keeping this in mind, a sample study schedule that they can follow could be as follows:

  1. Wake up early – Waking up early in the morning is a necessity for a school-going student. If you have to leave for school around 6:30 AM, you should wake up around 5:00 to 5:30 AM, so that you can get ready for school. This will avoid any chaos early in the morning.
  2. Exercise – After you wake up, do some stretching and light exercises, to set the right intentions for the day. This will be a good start to your day and you can get rid of lethargy. You will feel refreshed and energetic.
  3. Revise what was covered the previous day – Allow 10 minutes for the previous day’s revision. Revise all that you covered in your school and studies the day before within 10 to 15 minutes. This will give you self-assurance that you are ready to attend today’s classes. Any doubts can be cleared with the teacher that very day. Daily revision, therefore, is necessary.  
  4. Shower and refresh – After exercising and revision, take a shower. This is a vital habit for your regular lifestyle. It will get you ready for a new and fresh day at school. 
  5. Get ready – Get ready for your school. Keep your uniform ready the night before to avoid searching for it early in the morning. Your uniform should be washed and neatly ironed. Polish your shoes a day before only. Keep your socks, tie, and other accessories to be worn with the uniform at a particular place. Dressing up confidently can remarkably enhance your productivity at school.
  6. Do not miss your breakfast – Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast along with a glass of milk before leaving for school. If you go to school with an empty stomach, it can cause headaches, which will interfere with your school activities. A good and fulfilling breakfast will keep you energized throughout the day. 

You shall return from school by 2:00 or 2:30 in the afternoon. The schedule after that may look like this:

  1. Resetting for the second half of the day with lunch – After getting changed into a comfortable outfit, have a fulfilling lunch that will help you perform various activities and study diligently thereafter.
  2. Rest for a while – Rest is as necessary for your body as food. Take a short nap or simply rest before going about the rest of your day. Doing so will strengthen you to put your best foot forward without feeling tired after school. 
  3. Attend your tuitions or sit down for self-studies – If you attend tuitions for subjects that you’re weak in, go ahead with it. If you prefer self-study, start studying according to your study schedule.
  4. Complete your school homework – After self-study, complete your homework as assigned in the school. You should also engage yourself in an outdoor activity. Revise what you’ve done throughout the day before dinner. Have a light dinner and go to bed on time, so that you are ready for the next day.
