The 5 Minute Beauty Routine That Every Girl Should Know

Everyone knows that feeling when you wake up after snoozing your last alarm and realise that you have 15 minutes until you have to leave the house. And then you realise that your makeup routine is 20 minutes long alone!

Well, this guide aims to give you the perfect 5-minute beauty routine that’s efficient, simple and focused on enhancing your natural features rather than masking them. The key is choosing multitasking products and applying them in the smartest and most efficient order, so you can maximise results without rushing rather than striving for full glam perfection.

So, if you want a 5-minute routine for those busy or rushed mornings where you’ve slept in and need to get to work or school asap, here is the perfect routine for you.

Skin prep ( 1 minute )

The best makeup results are when you focus on creating a good base so that your makeup looks smooth and lasts all day. Although you may implement multiple steps into your usual skincare prep, this step must be efficient and under 1 minute. First, quickly cleanse and pat your face dry with a clean towel and then apply a two-in-one moisturiser/face primer and SPF to hydrate your skin and protect you from UV rays. This step is crucial as it will help to create a seamless blending process and avoid skin flaking, which can ruin a makeup look.

Even out your complexion ( 1 to 2 minutes)

When you’re rushed for time, the last thing that you should do is reach for the foundation. In this step, you should focus on evening out your skin tone rather than a full coverage look, as this will save time with blending and means that you do not have to introduce colour back into the face in later steps through intensive bronzer and contouring. Instead, quickly apply and blend some concealer under your eyes to cover any dark circles that you’ve gained from sleeping in and spot target with a concealer and blend with the tip of your finger. Finish this look by adding a dab of cream blush onto your cheeks and blend with a sponge for instant colour and freshness.

Define the eyes ( 1 to 2 minutes)

The eyes make the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time. After perfecting your complexion, you should apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes to open up the eyes. If you have some extra time, you can also lightly fill in your brows using a pencil and brush it out to add structure to your face.

Add colour to lips ( 30 to 45 seconds)

To finish and pull together the look, you can add some colour to your lips. Choose a tinted lip balm or a natural-looking lip liner to quickly apply to the lips to add colour and balance to the face. Those with a hydrating formula can keep their lips hydrated and feeling comfortable throughout the day.
