SEVEN THINGS THAT YOU MUST NEVER DO IF YOU WANT TO INCREASE THE PRODUCTIVITY OF YOUR ORGANIZATION

It does not matter if you are an owner of an established business or have just started out to become a part of the top guns in your respective fields, you must keep in mind that there are some things which a person must never follow if they truly want their company to grow. On the other hand, there are a few things that must be done to achieve the growth targets of your business sooner than expected such as the introduction of an employee purchase program, ergonomic furniture, well-maintained workspace etc. But since we have already talked about these things, today we are going to pay some much-needed attention to the other side of the coin. In the following paragraphs, some of the most important practices are explained which must be avoided at all costs if you do not want to hinder the growth of your organization.

  1. MAKING YOUR EMPLOYEES WORK FOR LONGER HOURS WHEN THEY ARE WORKING FROM HOME

Someone had posted on LinkedIn that working from home does not mean that your employees are always in a condition to work. Working from home facilitates your employees to complete their tasks without actually being present in the office, but that certainly does not mean that they will be available to work all the time. They have a family to manage and people to look out for after their working hours. So you must make sure that your employees are working for as many hours while working from home as they would have while working from the office.

  1. MAKING YOUR EMPLOYEES FEEL UNDERVALUED

There are a lot of ways by which you can make your employees feel valued and appreciate their efforts. But the downside is that there is an equally large number of ways by which you can make them feel undervalued and one of those ways is to not recognize the efforts that your employees put in towards the growth of the company. You must make sure that none of your employees is feeling undervalued due to something you said or did as it will affect their productivity in a negative manner.

  1. NOT REWARDING THEIR EFFORTS TOWARDS THE GROWTH OF THE COMPANY

You may consider this an extension to the above-mentioned point because it is directly related to how well you treat your employees in your organization. By not rewarding their efforts, you make them feel less important in the company and that affects the way they work in a bad manner. So if you really want to increase the productivity of your company, you must treat your employees with regular rewards which are based on their performance.

  1. NOT DISCUSSING WITH THEM IMPORTANT DECISIONS REGARDING THE COMPANY

Your employees should never feel that their company is a separate entity that has nothing to do with what they think about the decisions taken by the higher authorities of the organization. It will make them feel like they are not a part of the organization and that is going to cause a number of problems for your company to grow.

  1. GIVING THEM AN UNSAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT

If your organization does not offer your employees a safe work environment, then it is putting itself at a high risk of getting blacklisted by a majority of its employees. A safe work environment is one of the most basic and important amenities that every organization must offer to its employees. If not, it will affect their work and eventually the overall productivity of the organization.

  1. IMPLEMENTING SENSELESS POLICIES

It is okay to implement some hard rules in the form of company policies, a majority of your employees will abide by them even when they disagree with it. But that does not mean that you can implement any senseless policies which are just highly problematic for your employees and for the growth of your company.

  1. NOT PROVIDING THEM WITH BEST QUALITY FURNITURE

It is your responsibility to give your employees the best quality furniture which can be purchased from any wholesale dealer at an affordable price. The furniture in your office plays an important role in the productivity of your employees.

Upon carefully evaluating the information written above, you might feel like you have been going too hard on your employees if you were following even one of the above-mentioned practices. And if you really want to change the way things work in your office, then the first step should be to better the workspace by introducing best quality furniture such as an ergonomic chair for every employee and an efficient office desk. Because it is the workspace of your employees where all the important stuff happens so it stands to reason that you begin improving your office by following this step.
